Mental health awareness is essential to maintaining a safe and healthy construction workplace. This course helps participants recognize mental health challenges, substance misuse, suicide warning signs, and other workplace wellness concerns while promoting a culture of safety, support, and early intervention. Our NYC SST-302 2-Hour Mental Health Awareness for Construction course also offers Voice Authentication (VA) proctoring to meet NYC Local Law 196 requirements for Mental Health Awareness training. CEUs: 0.2 Learning Objectives: Upon completion of this drug and alcohol awareness training online, the student will be able to: 1. Identify common substances of misuse — including alcohol, cannabis, stimulants, benzodiazepines, and prescription/OTC medications — and their effects on the body. 2. Recognize the health, safety, and fire risks of tobacco and nicotine use in the construction workplace. 3. Identify suicide risk factors and protective factors, and describe how to safely talk about suicide and seek help for a coworker. 4. Define mental health and identify strategies for talking about mental health with others. 5. Describe how to recognize an opioid overdose and the steps involved in a Naloxone response. 6. Identify treatment and crisis resources available to construction workers, including 988, OASAS, and SAMHSA.
