Construction sites in NYC pose complex hazards due to high-rise structures, confined work areas, and heavy equipment. This course meets NYC DOB requirements for Site Safety Manager, Site Safety Coordinator, and Construction Superintendent certifications.
The course ensures that learners acquire the knowledge to manage, oversee, and implement safety protocols per Chapter 33, OSHA 1926, NYC Construction Codes, and other relevant regulations.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this drug and alcohol awareness training online, the student will be able to: 1. Describe the purpose of the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) and key DOB licensing requirements for site safety personnel. 2. Identify the roles, responsibilities, and legal duties of Site Safety Managers, Coordinators, and Construction Superintendents. 3. Explain the structure and application of NYC Building Code Chapter 33 and other relevant codes (Plumbing, Fuel Gas, Mechanical). 4. Recognize regulatory responsibilities for DOB permitting work permits, variance, and violations management. 5. Interpret Site Safety Plans (SSPs) and explain how they are used for compliance and site control. 6. Review how to perform jobsite inspections to identify unsafe conditions and implement corrective actions. 7. Describe common site hazards (falls, struck-by, caught-in-between, electrical, material handling) and how to mitigate them. 8. Apply OSHA 1926 Subparts (Fall Protection, Scaffolds, Excavations, etc.) to jobsite operations. 9. Describe site safety requirements and best practices for concrete operations, hoisting, cranes, derricks, and scaffold work. 10. Recognize and apply FDNY emergency response protocols for fires, gas leaks, and other emergencies. 11. Identify communication procedures and incident reporting responsibilities for site safety managers. 12. Review the role of Safety Meetings, Pre-task Meetings, and Toolbox Talks in ensuring compliance. 13.Describe DOB’s administrative enforcement processes, including ECB violations, stop work orders, and penalties. 14. Review required documentation, forms, and recordkeeping for site safety compliance (logbooks, checklists, safety inspections). 15. Identify how to prepare for DOB inspections and audits, and respond effectively to citations or enforcement actions. 16. Explain site signage requirements, egress requirements, and tenant protection plans for occupied buildings. 17. Analyze NYC construction incident case studies and evaluate lessons learned. 18. Participate in review sessions covering NYC Building Code, OSHA, and site safety management principles. 19. Complete a written multiple-choice examination demonstrating mastery of course content (minimum 70% passing score required). 20.
