2 Hour Drug and Alcohol Awareness Course

 

In order to continue to operate in the City of New York, the designated construction worker is required to complete a minimum number of hours of approved site safety training and to carry site safety identification cards as proof of completion of the training (As per New York City Local Law 196 of 2017 also known as ‘LL196’ or ‘Local Law’). This course provides two hours towards the satisfaction of that requirement.

  • Pre-Course Learner Information

    Course Overview: This course is hosted on learndesk.us our self paced online learning platform. You will need to create an account on the website once confirmation of purchase of the course is completed. ABC Safety Group will assign the course to your email address and you will receive and email asking you to create an account on learndesk.us to access your course modules.

    CEU REQUIREMENTS

    • Verification of Identity and Records Assignments
    • 100% attendance for the 2 hour drug and alcohol awareness course online
    • As applicable, achievement of minimum passing score on required end-of-course examination (70%)
    • Participation and submittal of end-of-course evaluation form 

     

    LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of this drug and alcohol awareness training online, the student will be able to: 

    1. Identify the adverse effects of drug and alcohol use in the construction workplace.

    2. Recognize problems and behaviors associated with substance dependency.

    3. Describe strategies for avoiding working under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

    4. Apply methods to recognize, avoid, and prevent (RAP) the adverse consequences of drug and/or alcohol use in the construction workplace.

    5. Identify the effects of chemical dependency on the lives of coworkers, family, and friends.

    6. Explain how dependent disorders can affect individuals, including those who may not realize they are at risk.

    Technical Requirements: You will need a web browser to access the content sufficiently and ability to have volume and listen to the course material videos.

    Confirmation of Satisfactory Completion

    To confirm that learners have satisfactorily completed the course, the following measures are in place:

    Module Completion Tracking: The LearnDesk.us platform monitors and records the completion status of each course module for every learner.

    Final Assessment: Learners must complete a final quiz and achieve a score of at least 70% to pass. The quiz is automatically graded by the platform.

    Course Evaluation: Upon finishing the course, learners are required to complete an evaluation form, providing feedback on the course content and delivery.

    Certificate Issuance: After meeting all course requirements, learners receive a digital certificate of completion, which includes their name, course title, completion date, and CEU credits earned (If requested).

    Record Keeping: ABC Safety Group staff regularly review course completion records, quiz scores, and evaluation submissions to ensure compliance and maintain accurate records for IACET accreditation purposes.
